Ingredients For sallie’s sour cream pound cake
- CAKE:

1 cup butter, softened, 2 sticks

3 cups sugar

6 egg yolks, beaten

1/4 t. baking soda

1 cup sour cream
-
3 cups flour
-
1 t. each vanilla, lemon and almond extract
-
6 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- LEMON GLAZE:

1/2 cup lemon juice

1/2 cup powdered sugar
How To Make sallie’s sour cream pound cake

1For the cake: cream butter and sugar in mixing bowl. Beat in egg yolks. Stir the baking soda into the sour cream in a bowl. Add to the butter mixture alternately with the flour. Stir in extracts. Fold in the egg whites. Spoon into a well greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto a cake plate. For the glaze, heat the lemon juice and powdered sugar in a pan over low heat until smooth, stirring frequently. Drizzle glaze over warm cake with a teaspoon. Serves 16
