Far and away, my favorite cookies. EVER. So fun and easy to make. They were a tradition to make with my mother, make them a tradition in your house!

Ingredients For russian tea cakes

2 stickbutter, softened

pinch of salt

1/2 cpowdered sugar

1 tspvanilla

2 cflour
-
1/2 cchopped pecans *optional*

How To Make russian tea cakes

1Preheat oven to 400.

2Using pastry blender, mix butter, salt, and ½ cup powdered sugar until smooth. Mix in vanilla.

3Slowly beat in flour and nuts, if using.

4Chill dough for 30 minutes, then form into ¾- to 1-inch balls. Arrange close together on baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set, but not brown. *NOTE* Cookies can be placed very close together, as they will not grow.

5Roll hot teacakes in powdered sugar, then let cool. Once cool, roll teacakes again in powdered sugar.
