This Rum Cake is easy to make and I've taken it to gatherings many times,

Ingredients For rum cake

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 1 3 3/4 oz pkg. vanilla pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup each cold water, vegetable oil and rum
  • GLAZE
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup rum

How To Make rum cake

  • 1
    Grease and flour a bundt pan. ( I use Pam )
  • 2
    Sprinkle pecans on bottom.

    Combine remaining ingredients, blending well. Pour batter over nuts.

    Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hr. or until done. Cool.

    Invert onto cake plate. Poke holes in cake with a toothpick.(I use a wooden skewer).

    In saucepan combine glaze ingredients except for rum. Boil 5 minutes stirring frequently. Add rum to glaze last and pour over cooled cake.
