Ingredients For rolled oats cake

  • 1 c
    oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 c
    boiling water
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c
    flour

How To Make rolled oats cake

  • 1
    Combine oats and boiling water. Set aside.

    Mix together remaining ingredents. Add oatmeal mixture. Pour into a greased and floured 9 by 13 cake pan.

    Combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 tabelspoon butter, 1/4 cup milk and 1 tsp vanilla. Boil 3 minutes. Spoon over cake batter and bake @ 375 for 30 min.
