"refrigerator" cake

I came across this recipe in one of my cookbooks from a local church around here. It's very different then your average cake....but so good! Anything with pineapple is good to me.....I love pineapple! *Google pic*

Ingredients For "refrigerator" cake

2 c. crushed pineapple

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup pecans
-
1/4 cup butter, melted

1 tsp. vanilla

3 cups crushed nilla wafers
How To Make "refrigerator" cake

1Place a layer of crushed wafers in a greased refrigerator dish.

2Cover wafers with a layer of mixture.

3Add another layer of wafers.

4Top with more mixture.

5Ending with wafer crumbs on top.

6Place in refrigerator for a day or longer.

7*Note* Serve with cool whip or ice-cream, and a cherry on top. You may substitute nilla wafers for graham crackers.
