1/4 ccocoa powder

3/4 cbuttermilk

3/4 cbutter, room temperature

8 ozcream cheese, room temperature

3 cconfectioners' sugar
How To Make red velvet whoopie pies with a cream cheese icing.

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees then sift together 2 1/4c flour, 1/4c coco, 1/2t powder, 1/2t baking soda, 1/4 salt and set aside. Portion out 3/4c buttermilk and 1T red dye and set aside. Paddle together in the mixer 3/4c room temp butter until smooth, then add 1c sugar until creamy, next add 1 egg and 1t vanilla until incorporated. Mix and alternate dry ingredients with the wet until it all comes together. Spoon with a small ice cream scoop onto a greased baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 mins depending on size.

2For the icing you will need...1/2c butter room temp, 8 ounces cream cheese, 3c confectioners sugar and 1t vanilla. Cream it together in a mixer and spread it on.
