My mother, who married at the age of 15, created this recipe while still a young girl. Our family has loved and served this cake for over 75 years. I think it's best served warm!

How To Make prune cake

1Cream together sugar and crisco. Blend in 3 eggs and 1/2 cup sour cream.

2Sift flour with the spices, baking soda and 1/2 tsp salt. Add to creamed ingredients.

3Beat in one cup seeded prunes.

4Pour into two greased, floured 9" cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Organize frosting ingredients. As soon as cake is done, remove from oven to cool on racks. Begin frosting:

5Combine eggs, sugar, sour cream, prunes and salt in large saucepan. Using electric beaters, beat ingredients over medium heat until thick and completely cooked. Immediately assemble and frost cake.
