I have made Christmas boxes of goodies and candies since I was about 20 years old, so, about 50 years now. This is one of my favorites to put in it.

Ingredients For perfect pumpkin bars

2 call-purpose flour

2 cgranulated sugar

2 tspbaking powder
-
1 tspbaking soda
-
1 1/2 tspcinnamon

1 tspnutmeg
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1/2 tspground cloves
-
1 ccanola oil
-
1 canpumpkin (2 cups, 16 oz)

4 lgeggs
-
1 cwalnuts, chopped coarsely
- FROSTING
-
2 cpowdered sugar
-
1/3 cbutter, softened
-
3 ozcream cheese, softened
-
1 Tbspmilk
-
1 tspvanilla
How To Make perfect pumpkin bars

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease 15x10x1" baking pan.

3In large bowl, combine all bar ingredients; beat at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.

4Pour into greased pan.

5Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutesor until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

6Cool completely.

7In small bowl, combine all frosting ingredients; beat until smooth. Frost cooled bars. Cut into bars. Store in fridge.

8Sprinkle the top lightly with some nutmeg , cloves & cinnamon mixed, for color. It won't take much, so don't over-do it.

9Note: Sometimes I make these thicker like a cake, as above. May need 2 batches to accomplish this.
