This wonderful frosting goes really well on a chocolate cake. It is a bit on the caramel side but with brown sugar flavor. This was my sister Jackie's favorite frosting. She always wanted mom to make it for her.

Ingredients For penuche (brown sugar) boiled frosting

  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    white sugar
  • 6 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • dash of salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    karo syrup
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter

How To Make penuche (brown sugar) boiled frosting

  • 1
    Mix and boil hard for one minute. Remove from heat and let cool a while. Then beat until easy to spread. Will cover a 9 x 13 cake.
