This is such an easy dessert.

This cake is seriously yummy. Served hot or cold, it's a great little dessert. We love the sweet and crunchy pecan pie topping. The pecan pie filling cooks into the butter cake giving the dessert a nice, chewy texture. Cut into bars, place on a plate and watch these disappear.

Ingredients For pecan pie cake

  • FOR CAKE
  • 1 box
    butter flavored cake mix (reserve 3/4 c. for filling)
  • 1 stick
    butter, softened
  • 1
    egg
  • FILLING
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    corn syrup, dark
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3
    eggs
  • 3/4 c
    cake mix
  • 2 c
    pecans, in pieces

How To Make pecan pie cake

  • Mixing butter, cake mix, and an egg in a bowl.

    Mix butter, cake mix, and egg with a fork or pastry cutter.
  • A baking pan greased and floured.

    Grease and flour 9x13 inch pan.
  • Pressing cake mixture into the baking dish.

    Press mixture into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven.
  • Whisking the filling ingredients together.

    To make the filling, with together the filling ingredients.
  • Pouring the filling ingredients over the crust.

    Mix and pour filling over cake mix.
  • Placing the dessert back into the oven to bake.

    Bake at 350 degrees for an additional 30 minutes.
