Ingredients For pear cinnamon-sugar cake

  • 1/4 c
    butter, at room temperature
  • 2/3 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 11/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 2
    pears, sliced
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, chopped
  • CINNAMON SUGAR
  • 11/2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon

How To Make pear cinnamon-sugar cake

    Preheat oven to 400. Grease and flour 9" round cake pan.

    Beat butter and brown sugar until creamy.
  • 3
    Add vanilla and egg and mix until combined.
  • 4
    In separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon.

    Add to the mixer, alternating with buttermilk.

    Fold in half of the pecans.
  • 7
    Spread batter in pan. Arrange pear slices on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and remaining pecans.

    Bake for 20 -25 minutes until edges are golden and center comes out with moist crumbs.

    Serve warm, if desired.
