I found this recipe on a Duncan Heinz cake mix back in 1968. It is one of my husband's favorites. (He used to take entire quart jar from his mom's homecanned peaches and hide somewhere while he ate the whole quart!)

Ingredients For peach upside down cake

  • 1 box
    yellow cake mix - prepared according to directions
  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine - melted
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 large can
    sliced peaches - drained

How To Make peach upside down cake

  • 1
    pour melted butter into 13 x 9 cake pan. sprinkle sugar evenly on top of butter. arrange peaches. slowly add cake batter so peaches don't move around.

    bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes. let stand 5 minutes - turn out on plate or platter.
