Ingredients For cherry sweet bread

2 1/2 call purpose flour

2 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

1/2 cchopped red and green candied cherries or red and green maraschino cherries , patted very dry

1/2 cgolden raisins

1 cchopped walnuts
-
3/4 cbutter
-
1 1/2 cgranulated sugar

2 lgeggs
-
1 corange juice, fresh
How To Make cherry sweet bread

1sift together flour,baking powder, soda and salt. Sprinkle 1 cup of mixture over combined fruits and nuts. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Add dry ingredients and orange juice, stirring until just blended - like making muffins. Fold in floured nuts and fruit. Spoon batter into a well sprayed or greased 9-inch tube pan. Bake in 350^ for one hour, or until center tests done. Cool for 5 minutes and remove from pan. If desired, frost top with a mixture of powdered sugar and orange juice. Sprinkle top with chopped nuts or coconut.
