This recipe comes from a 1968 recipe book titled,"Favorite Recipes From Church of GOD Ladies". Each of the recipes has the ladies' name and home town and I will include this with the recipe and if you know or are related to this person, I would really like to know. The recipes I post from this cookbook are ones I have tried and really like or are unusual due to ingredients or possibly due to the number of recipes with the same name but are different in some way. I hope you enjoy. I know some the recipes are really lacking in some or all areas, but I am posting them as they are in the cookbook

Ingredients For pan handy cake
- CAKE:

3 csifted flour

6 Tbspcocoa

2 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

2 csugar

12 Tbspmazola oil

2 Tbspvinegar

2 tspvanilla
- CAKE TOPPING:
-
1/2 csugar
-
1 1/2 Tbspcornstarch

2 Tbspcocoa
-
dashof salt
-
1 cwater
-
1 1/2 Tbspbutter

1 tspvanilla
How To Make pan handy cake

1CAKE: Mix first 5 ingredients in mixing bowl;

2Add remaining ingredients.

3Pour 2 cups cold water over all and stir until well blended.

4Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

5CAKE TOPPING: Mix sugar, cornstarch, cocoa, salt and water together.

6Cook until thickened.

7Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla. Mix well.

8Spread hot topping on hot cake.
