I found this recipe on a Pillsbury Moist Supreme Classic Yellow Cake Mix. With the summer holidays and family gatherings coming, this would be a great desert to bring.

Ingredients For over-the-top sundae cake

  • 1 pkg
    pillsbury moist supreme classic yellow cake mix
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/3 c
    cooking oil
  • 3
    eggs
  • 2
    quarts vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 2
    bananas sliced
  • 12
    marachino cherries, with stems
  • 1 c
    smucker's pineapple topping
  • 1 c
    smucker's hot fudge topping
  • chopped nuts (optional)

How To Make over-the-top sundae cake

  • 1
    bake cake as directed in 13x9-inch pan. Cool completely. Spread softened ice cream on top of cooled cake. Freeze 2 hours or overnight. Just before serving, top with sliced bananas and cherries; drizzle with toppings and chopped nuts (optional). Store covered in freezer.
