This cake is delicious. I found this recipe because I was browsing the recipe club, and someone was looking for a recipe for an Orange pound cake. I live in Florida where oranges are grown and thought it would be interesting to find a recipe for an Orange pound. Well here it is and I hope you try it, and enjoy it. Happy Baking!

Ingredients For orange pound cake w/orange cream cheese frosting

  • 2 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 2 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 5
    eggs
  • 1 c
    orange crush or other carbonated orange drink
  • 3 c
    cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange flavoring
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • ICING
  • 1/2 stick
    butter, softened
  • 18 oz
    cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 box
    confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp
    orange flavoring

How To Make orange pound cake w/orange cream cheese frosting

    Preheat oven to 350 degree. Grease and flour a tube pan.

    Cream butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. In a second bowl, sift flour and salt together. add dry ingredients to butter mixture, alternately with orange drink. Add flavorings. Pour batter into tube pan and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake is golden brown. Cool cake in pan about 10 minutes. Remove from pan and let cake cool completely on wire rack. Frost cake with icing.

    To make icing, cream butter and cream cheese in mixer, gradually add sugar. Add flavoring and combine well.
