Ingredients For orange candy cake

1 cbutter

2 csugar

5eggs

1 Tbspvanilla

1 pkg(8 oz.) dates; cut cup

1 lborange candy slices; cut up

1 tspsalt

2 cpecans; chopped
-
1 can(4 oz.) shredded coconut

4 csifted flour
-
1/2 tspbaking soda

1 tspbuttermilk
How To Make orange candy cake

1Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla.

2Mix dates, candy, nuts, and coconut with 1/4 cup flour.

3Sift the remaining flour with baking soda and salt. Alternately fold into creamed mixture with buttermilk.

4Fold in date mixture. Spoon into a well-greased 10" tube pan.

5Bake at 300° for 2½ hours.

6Remove from oven. Let stand for 15 minutes. Remove from pan then pour on Lemon Syrup*.

7When the cake is completely cool, wrap it in aluminum foil and refrigerate at least 1 day before serving.
