Ingredients For oatmeal cake

1 1/4 cboiling water

1 coatmeal, old fashion, uncooked
-
1 stickbutter
-
1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

2eggs
-
1 tspvanilla
-
1 tspbaking soda
-
1 1/2 call purpose flour
-
3/4 tspcinnamon
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1/4 tspnutmeg
- TOPPING
-
1 stickbutter
-
7 ozcoconuts
-
1 cnuts
-
1 1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

9 Tbspevaporated milk
How To Make oatmeal cake

1Preheat oven at 350 degrees.

2Pour boiling water over oatmeal and set aside for 20 minutes.

3Cream butter and sugars, add eggs. Beat well. Add vanilla and oatmeal mixture. Add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well. Put in greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake for 30 minutes.

4For Topping: Melt butter and add coconut, nuts, brown sugar, and milk. Mix well. Frost cake when you take it out of the oven. Broil until the top is brown. Approxiately 3 minutes. (Watch it carefully, so it doesn't burn.)
