I named this number one because this was my first cheesecake! I was so afraid to try one until the ladies on this wonderful site helped me and another lady who had never made one either in kind of a challenge and we did it! We both made our cheesecake today we just made different types of cheesecake! It has been fun! It aleast kept us out of cheesecake therapy!!! Which is a fear of making cheesecake!

Ingredients For number one cheesecake

  • 1 c
    graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 c
    chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts
  • 3
    tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 5 Tbsp
    cooled melted butter
  • 3 box
    8 oz cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 c
    sugar plus 3-4 teaspoons
  • 1 c
    sour cream room temperature
  • 1 c
    heavy cream room temperature
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 1/2
    tablespoons of vanilla
  • 3
    eggs room temperature
  • 1 qt
    strawberries fresh you could use frozen whole
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2
    cups water

How To Make number one cheesecake

    This is the original recipe for the crust. I personally like my crust not thick but a little thicker. I suggest go up a half on everything or you can double it. Personal choice.

    Preheat oven to 350° In a medium bowl combine graham cracker crumbs, chopped nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and melted butter (which has cooled. Mix well and press into a 9 in.springform pan which has been sprayed with Pam. Bake for 10 min. Remove and let it cool completely. Turn your oven down to 300°

    The cheesecake I change things just a little and it turn out great!

    Oven should be set at 300°. In a large bowl beat cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Beat in sour cream and heavy cream. Blend in flour and vanilla. With mixer on low speed add one egg at a time. Pour batter over crust.

    Bake 80 -90 min. or until center is almost set (filling will be soft) turn off oven. Leave the cheesecake in the oven for an hour with the door closed. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it sit for another 20-30 min. Then refrigerate for 6 hrs or over night before removing from pan.

    STRAWBERRY SAUCE 1 QUART FRESH STRAWBERRIES OR 12 OZ. FROZEN 1/2 CUP SUGAR 1/2 CUP OF WATER PUT IT IN A MED.PAN USE A POTATO MASHER AND MASH UP THE FRUIT. BOIL FOR ABOUT 5 MIN UNTIL IT STARTS GETTING THICKER. TURN OF HEAT AND LET IT COOL. LOVE IT ONE PAN MESS!! DRIZZLE OVER A SLICE OC CHEESECAKE
