My Grandma would always make this coffee cake for my sister and I. It brings back a lot of memories!

Ingredients For nana lou's cinnamon coffee cake

  • 3 c
    flour, unsifted
  • 6 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 Tbsp
    oil
  • TOPPING
  • 1 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 5 Tbsp
    flour
  • 3 Tbsp
    cinnamon
  • 5 Tbsp
    butter, melted

How To Make nana lou's cinnamon coffee cake

    -MIX BY HAND!-

    Sift all dry ingredients together. Cut in butter.

    Combine eggs, milk, oil & vanilla together. Add to the dry mixture.

    Pour just enough batter to barely cover greased 9x13 pan.

    Blend all the topping ingredients together and sprinkle 1/2 of the mixture over the batter. Pour remaining batter on top of cinnamon mixture.

    Top batter with remainder of topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. DO NOT TEST TOO EARLY OR CAKE WILL SINK IN THE MIDDLE! Enjoy!
