My Nana found this recipe years and years ago in our local newspaper. It is a cake at every birthday and every holiday. The best ever.

Ingredients For nana cake

  • 1 box
    cake mix, any will do. our favorite is vanilla but have done chocolate too.
  • 1 pkg
    softened cream cheese
  • 1 pkg
    instant pudding vanilla flavored
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1
    8 oz container cool whip (unthawed)
  • walnuts
  • 1 can
    crushed or chopped pineapple
  • salad cherries as many as you like

How To Make nana cake

  • 1
    make cake according to the box and bake in a 9 x 12 pan. When its done cool and leave in the pan.

    After cake is cooled. Make frosting. In a large bowl combine vanilla pudding and 1 cup of milk, beat on until smooth and thick. Then add cream cheese and beat again until smooth. Fold in unthawed cool whip. Frost cake, top with cherries, pineapple, and walnuts.
