Ingredients For my mom's oatmeal cake

11/2 cups water

1 cup quick oats
-
1/2-1 cup butter or margarine

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

2 well beaten eggs

1 1/3 cups flour
-
1 tsp. baking soda
-
1 tsp. cinnamon
-
1/2 tsp. salt
- FROASTING

1 tsp. melted butter or margarine

1/2 cup canned cream or 1/2 cup canned milk

1 tsp. vanilla

1 cup brown sugar
How To Make my mom's oatmeal cake

1Bring water to a boil add quick oats. Let stand 15 minutes.

2Cream together 1/2 cup butter or margarine, brown sugar, white sugar, and 2 well beaten eggs. Mix with oatmeal.

3Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt. Add to mix and beat well.

4Pour into a 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.

5FOR FROSTING: Mix together melted butter or margarine, canned cream /milk, vanilla and brown sugar.

6Spread on cake and brown in the oven for a few minutes. You can add coconut or raisins on top.
