Delicious cake, and scrumptious frosting. I have also made this with a from scratch chocolate cake, and used this frosting...delish My photos

Ingredients For mounds cake

  • 1 box
    chocolate cake mix
  • 1 box
    instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 1/4 c
    water
  • 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 c
    chocolate chips
  • FROSTING
  • 1 - 8 oz
    cool whip, thawed
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 1 /3 c
    coconut
  • 1 - 8 oz
    sour cream

How To Make mounds cake

    Preheat oven to 325° F. Grease and flour a 9x13 cake pan.

    For the cake: Mix all ingredients and pour into a prepared pan.

    Bake for 28-32 minutes or until done; cool.

    For the frosting: Using a mixer I mix the sugar and sour cream together well. Then blend in the cool whip and coconut with a spoon or spatula. Frost the cake once cool.

    Yum!...The frosting really makes the cake. I could eat it by the spoonfuls...lol!
