Ingredients For mom's orange slice cake

1 lbcandy orange slices, chopped

1/2 lbdried dates

2 csweetened coconut flakes

2 cpecans, chopped

1 cflour
-
1 cbutter, softened

2 csugar
-
4 lgeggs
-
1 tspbaking soda

2 1/2 call purpose flour

1 cbuttermilk
-
1/2 corange juice
-
1 csugar
How To Make mom's orange slice cake

1Mix orange slices,dates, coconut, and pecans in 1 c. flour. Set aside.

2Preheat ovens to 300 degrees.

3Butter and flour tube pan or bundt pan or 4 loaf pans. Non stick are the best.

4Cream butter and the 2 c. sugar til fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. beat well after each egg. Mix together baking soda and flour. Add flour mixture alternating buttermilk to butter sugar mixture. Mix well.

5Stir in candy orange mixture. Pour into pan of choice and bake until wooden pick inserted into cakes comes out clean {times vary depending on size of pan, bundt pan takes almost 2 hours}.

6Mix orange juice and sugar in a small sauce pan, bring to boil. Poke holes in HOT cake. Pour juice mixture over cake. Refrigerate over night to set up.
