I was cracking black walnuts one day on the asphalt in our driveway when my husband pulled up and said "How's my little nutcracker?". I soon went inside and came up with this cake for him.

1 cbutter, room temperature

1 csugar

1 1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

4eggs

8 ozcream cheese, room temperature

1 csour cream

2 1/2 call purpose flour

1 1/2 tspbaking powder

1 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

2 tspvanilla extract

1 1/2 cblack walnuts, finely chopped

1 lbconfectioners' sugar

1/4 cmilk

1 tspvanilla extract
How To Make moe's nutcracker cake

1Cream together butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time.

2Add cream cheese and sour cream.

3Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

4Slowly add flour mixture to batter. Add vanilla and mix well. After well incorporated, add finely chopped black walnuts.

5Pour into tube pan and bake at 335 degrees for 60-70 minutes. Cool and remove from pan.

6Mix confectioner's sugar, milk, and vanilla. May have to adjust milk depending on thickness desired. Pour over cooled cake.
