Ingredients For million dollar devil's food cake

  • 2 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    shortening (butter crisco is fine)
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/3 c
    cocoa
  • 1 tsp
    soda
  • 1 c
    sour or sweet milk (to make fast sweet milk, add 1 tsp white vinegar to 1 c. milk)
  • 2 c
    sifted flour
  • 1 tsp
    real vanilla extract

How To Make million dollar devil's food cake

    Sift all dry ingredients together. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time and beat. Add flour mixture and milk alternately, ending with flour. Beat in vanilla. Bake at 350 in two 9 inch cake pans for 25-28 minutes until springs back at touch.
