Melt in your mouth deliciousness! This recipe is always requested for our potlucks! I usually don't add nuts to the batter, but sprinkle pecans or walnuts on top! Great without too! Enjoy!

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 stick
    butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 - 2 c
    ripe mashed banana
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
  • 1 - 8 oz
    softened cream cheese
  • 1 stick
    softened butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 c
    confectioners' sugar

How To Make ~ melting moments banana bars ~

    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter, add eggs, banana and vanilla and beat thoroughly.

    In another bowl, sift together, flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Add dry mix to wet a little at a time. Mix well.

    Spread into an 11 x 17 greased sheet pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until pick comes out clean. Cool completely. lol

    Make frosting. Cream together butter and cream cheese. Add milk and vanilla, mix. Add in confectioners' sugar a cupful at a time. Beat until smooth. Frost cooled cake and sprinkle with nuts if desired!
