When I heard of this I thought yuk! but, I have to say this was one of the best cakes I've ever ate. I tried it at a friends house. I asked her where she got this she said her mother gave it to her years ago. I couldn't believe it was a mayonnaise cake. Don't let the name fool you, you have to try it. Even my little picky eatter loves it. It's his favorite cake.

Ingredients For mayonnaise cake

  • CAKE
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    mayonnaise
  • 4 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    cold water
  • ICING
  • 1 box
    powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    margarine

How To Make mayonnaise cake

    Blend cocoa with hot water!

    Preheat oven to 350. Mix all the cake ingredients together and bake 30 to 35 min. Be sure to grease and flour your pan.

    Mix all the icing ingredients together and spread over cooled cake.
