This recipe was another on of my grandmother's. I don't recall ever having this cake, but it sounds DELISH!! I don't know where the name come's from, but I would imagine it's a relative somewhere down the line.

1 pkgyellow cake mix

1 pkglemon jello ( 4 oz. )

3/4 coil

3/4 cwater

3 lgeggs

1 tsplemon extract
- GLAZE

2 Tbspbutter, melted

juice from 1 lemon

1 tspgrated lemon

1 cpowdered sugar
How To Make mary martha's surprise cake

1In a mixing bowl; mix the first 6 ingredients for 5 minutes; Pour into greased 11 x 13 baking dish and bake on 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. While cake is still warm, puncture it several times with a fork.

2In a saucepan combine; butter, juice of 1 lemon, grated lemon and powdered sugar. Stir until smooth; pour mixture over the warm cake.
