malted milk pie
This recipe came from an old friend of mine Judy Visser Shindlbeck. My mom, Betty Lillie, is in charge of making this dessert in our family. My kids never ask me (I don't know why, kids are weird like that) to make it but they beg their grandma to make "that ice cream thing". So here is the recipe for "that ice cream thing". This is even yummier if you use chocolate-flavored malted milk powder. I posted it as it was originally given to me and it's out of this world good but try it with the chocolate malted milk powder it's even better!
Blue Ribbon Recipe
If you love malted milk balls, this no-bake pie is for you. It combines the classic malted milk ball flavors with creamy vanilla ice cream. The simple graham cracker crust is a sweet base. Crushed malted milk balls are stirred into softened vanilla ice cream. Then a marshmallow cream whipped cream layer (with a touch of malted milk powder) is spread on top. We added a few more crushed malted milk balls before freezing. Once set up, each slice has little bits of malted milk balls in every bite. This recipe is a nostalgic and indulgent no-bake dessert.
