Ingredients For lenten mocha cake

  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 1-1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 c
    unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 6 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1
    k-cup of butterscotch or caramel flavored coffee, brewed at 8-ounce setting
  • powdered sugar

How To Make lenten mocha cake

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350º.
    Pour sugar, flour, salt, soda, and cocoa into large mixing bowl and whisk to combine.
    In another bowl, combine vanilla, vinegar, oil & coffee.
    Add wet ingredients to gry ingredients and stir to combine.
    Pour batter into ungreased 8 x 8 pan.
    Bake 30-40 minutes, or until toothpick tests clean.
    Dust with powdered sugar after cool.
