Ingredients For lemon pound cake

  • 3 c
    flour, sifted well
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 c
    crisco shortening (mawmaw said it has to be crisco)
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 4
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon extract
  • and the
    juice of 1/2 lemon

How To Make lemon pound cake

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.

    Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.
