chocolate and nut cake/ brownies

This recipe has been in my possession for a long time and has been all over the map and up and down the Mississippi River banks for many years- , but I have not seen this version of this cake yet... so try it out and see what you think, My family loves it and I always take it to family gatherings where it is quickly devoured.

Ingredients For chocolate and nut cake/ brownies

  • 2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 c
    margarine
  • 1/4 c
    baking cocoa powder
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 c
    flaked coconut
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped nuts
  • 7 oz
    jar marshmallow creme
  • FROSTING:
  • 1 lb
    powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c
    evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c
    baking cocoa powder
  • 1/2 c
    margarine
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How To Make chocolate and nut cake/ brownies

  • 1
    Cream sugar, margarine and cocoa. Add eggs and mix well. Combine and add to sugar mixture, flour, coconut and nuts. Bake in sprayed 12x15- inch cookie sheet(jelly roll pan) at 350^ for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and carefully spread soft marshmallow creme over cake. Combine powdered sugar, cocoa, margarine and vanilla, mix well and spread on cake when cooled. Cut into pieces the size that is right for you. This is like cake/brownies.
