Ingredients For java cake

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter, softened, 2 sticks
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 tsp. baking soda

How To Make java cake

  • 1
    Whisk flour and baking powder into a bowl. Mix 1 cup sugar and the cinnamon in a bowl. Beat the butter, 2 cups sugar, the eggs and vanilla in a mixing bowl until creamy. Scrape bowl occasionally. Mix the sour cream and baking soda in a bowl and mix well. Add sour cream mixture to the creamed mixture and beat until blended. Beat in flour mixture til smooth. Spoon half the batter into a greased 13 x 9 inch cake pan and sprinkle with 3/4 of the cinnamon mixture. Layer with remaining batter and remaining cinnamon mixture. Swirl wit knife to marbleize. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Serves 20
