I love lattice work on a pie or cakes. It makes it so pretty. But, it doesn't look so pretty when it is uneven and the strips breaks while weaving or there is that extra dough you cut away or crimp into the dough edges.

1Place your pie crust in pie tin and fill. Now with the second pie tin the same size, turn your pie tin upside down on top of the rolled out pie crust. Cut along the outer edge all the way around.

2Find the center of your pie. Cut down the center of the pie dough. Cut equal sized and equal amount of strips on both side of pie dough.
-
3Lay center strip of pie dough on center top of your ready fill pie. Skip one space to the next piece of pie strip. Do this from both sides of the rolled out pie dough. Brush top of pie with a little egg wash. Now take the longest piece and lay that on top of the dough..keep doing the samething until you are done. Press the edges of lattice into the pie dough lightly. Crimp your pie dough.
