If you grew up in the sixties, you probably had a Big Boy.s Restaurant. They were the original Big Mac maker. They also had a hot fudge cake. It was amazing. I was very thin back then and I absolutely loved that cake. This is sort of like that. Very delicious

Ingredients For hot fudge pudding cake

  • 1 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 7 Tbsp
    hershey's cocoa powder, divided
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/3 c
    melted butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c
    light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/4 c
    hot water

How To Make hot fudge pudding cake

  • 1
    Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8x8 or 9x9 square pan with shortening and flour. In medium mixing bowl, combine 3/4 cup of sugar, flour, 3 Tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt. Blend in milk, butter and vanilla; Beat until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan. In small bowl, combine remaining sugar, brown sugar and remaining cocoa. Sprinkle mixture evenly over batter. Pour hot water over top. Do not stir. Bake for 40 minutes or until center is almost set. Let stand 15 minutes. Spoon into dessert dishes, spooning sauce from bottom of pan over top. Top with whipped topping
