Easy cake that makes its own chocolate fudge sauce. Served warm, its a perfect winter dessert.

Ingredients For hot fudge cake

  • 1 c
    flour
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 6 Tbsp
    cocoa powder, divided
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    oil
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 3/4 c
    hot water

How To Make hot fudge cake

    In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons of the cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla. Stir till smooth. Spread mixture in an ungreased 9x9 pan.

    Combine brown sugar and remaining cocoa.Sprinkle over the cake batter.

    Pour the hot water over both the batter and sugar/cocoa mixture. DO NOT STIR!

    Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Serve warm topped with whipped cream, ice cream, or nothing but a big glass of milk on the side.
