I created a new cake recipe in the style of a chocolate mayonnaise cake. But instead of the mayonnaise, I decided to use honey margarine inside the cake and in the frosting.

  • HONEY MARGARINE
  • 2 1/2 stick
    margarine
  • 3/4 c
    honey
  • CAKE
  • 2 c
    milk chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 box
    German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 1/4 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3
    eggs
  • 3/4 c
    chocolate syrup
  • 1
    container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 c
    dark brown sugar

How To Make chocolate honey margarine cake

    To make the honey margarine, whisk the margarine and honey together in a small bowl until combined.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    To make the cake, coat the bottom and sides of two 8" round cake pans with cooking spray. Add 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips into each cake pan.

    In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil, egg whites, 3 tablespoons honey margarine and chocolate syrup with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.

    Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes.

    In a large bowl, combine the whipped topping, cream cheese, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons honey margarine, and remaining chocolate chips; whisk well.

    Place one layer of cake on a large plate. Spread with remaining honey margarine evenly. Top with the second layer cake. Spread the honey margarine frosting on the sides and top of the cake.
