I love bread pudding and this has to be the one recipe that brings me so much comfort. I don't use a lot of raisins because I am not a huge fan but you could put more if you'd like. This is also great served with vanilla bean ice cream.

This homestyle bread pudding is a decadent and comforting dessert. With hints of cinnamon and vanilla flavor, we loved the pops of sweetness from the raisins. Drizzling the custard sauce takes it over the top. It soaks into the custardy bread pudding and makes this dessert even richer.

Ingredients For homestyle bread pudding
- BREAD PUDDING

2 cwhole milk

1/4 cbutter, softened

1/3 cgranulated sugar

3 lgeggs

2 tspcinnamon

1 tsppure vanilla extract

3 cbread, torn into pieces (any bread, although French bread or raisin bread is great)

1/4 craisins
- SAUCE
-
1 cwhole milk
-
2 Tbspbutter, softened

1/3 csugar

1 tsppure vanilla extract

1 Tbspall-purpose flour

1 dashsalt
How To Make homestyle bread pudding

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a saucepan, over medium heat, heat milk.

2Add butter. Stir constantly until the butter is melted. Set aside.

3In a separate container, combine sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla.

4Slowly add the milk mixture. Set aside.

5Place torn pieces of bread in a casserole dish.

6Pour batter on top of bread.

7Sprinkle raisins.

8Bake at 350 F for 45 to 50 minutes or until set.

9For the sauce, mix everything in a saucepan.

10Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Set aside for a few minutes and then pour on warm bread pudding.
