hershey's chocolate cake

This weekend we hosted a mystery dinner party and I decided to make this chocolate cake for dessert. This is not a rich chocolate cake but it is good. If you're looking for simple, easy and chocolate - this will fit the bill. Original recipe is on the Hershey's cocoa container.

Ingredients For hershey's chocolate cake

1 3/4 call purpose flour

3/4 chershey's cocoa

1 1/2 tspbaking powder

1 1/2 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

2eggs
-
1 cmilk
-
1/2 cvegetable oil
-
2 tspvanilla extract

1 cboiling water
- FROSTING
-
1 stickbutter or margarine
-
2/3 chershey's cocoa
-
3 cpowdered sugar
-
1/3 cmilk
-
1 tspvanilla extract
How To Make hershey's chocolate cake

1Heat oven to 350 degrees and flour two 9 inch round baking pans

2Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl.

3Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, beat on medium speed of mixer two minutes

4Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour into prepared pans.

5Bake 30 - 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

6Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely.

7FROSTING

8Melt butter then stir in cocoa.

9Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beat to spreading consistently. Add small amount of milk if necessary.

10Stir in vanilla. Makes about 2 cups frosting.
