My dad use to make this cake all the time when we were young. Only he would use vanilla frosting with marachino cherries and walnuts on top. both ways are amazing

Ingredients For hershey syrup cake

  • CAKE
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    sifted cake flour
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    each baking powder and vanilla
  • 1 can
    16 oz hershey syrup
  • FROSTING
  • 1
    bar bakers sweet chocolate
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar more or less for desired consistency
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How To Make hershey syrup cake

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients for cake together in large bowl. Bake in 350 degrees oven in a greased 9 X 13 pan for 50 minutes. Cool completely

    For frosting melt the chocolate butter and water together on stove. Beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread on cooled cake
