Another one of those "old-fashioned" rustic cakes from my grandma.

Ingredients For grandma beck's apple cake

  • DRY INGREDIENTS
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • LIQUID INGREDIENTS
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    canola oil
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • OTHER
  • 1 c
    nuts, chopped (walnuts are good-so are pecans)
  • 4 c
    tart chopped apples - you don't need to bother to peel them

How To Make grandma beck's apple cake

    Preheat the oven to 350?F, grease a 9" x 13" baking dish.

    Sift or whisk together all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

    Beat together all the liquid ingredients. Beat into the dry ingredients and mix well until smooth.

    Stir in the apples and nuts.
  • 5
    Bake 45 min - 1 hour at 350 degrees F until the cake passes the toothpaste test.
