When I was employed, this was my "go-to" recipe when I had an office pot-luck. I've even made it for bake sales. Everyone loves it.

Ingredients For gooey butter cake

1yellow cake mix, any brand

1 stickbutter or margarine, softened

3eggs (divided)

8 ozcream cheese, softened

1 lbpowdered sugar
How To Make gooey butter cake

1FIRST LAYER: Mix 1 beaten egg, cake mix and butter together and crumble in bottom of a 9 X 13-inch greased pan. Do not bake.

2SECOND LAYER: Mix 2 beaten eggs and cream cheese together. Slowly add powdered sugar until mixed in. Carefully spread over first layer.

3Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.
