From Paula Deen. First time I made this, I gave out to the neighbors. Everyone loved it, even had some of the neighbor kids run up to me saying how good it was!

Ingredients For gooey butter cake

  • 18 1/4 oz
    yellow cake mix (1 box)
  • 1
    egg
  • 8 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 8 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 16 oz
    powdered sugar

How To Make gooey butter cake

    Preheat oven at 350 degrees F
  • 2
    Combine cake mix, 1 egg, and butter. Mix well and then pat mixture on a greased 13 x 9 in baking pan. (This is the crust)

    In large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add 2 eggs, vanilla, butter and beat together.

    Add powdered sugar and mix well, spread mixture over cake mix
  • 5
    Bake 40-50 min, center should be a little gooey.

    Let cake cool then dust cake with powdered sugar and enjoy!
