This recipe comes from a 1968 recipe book titled,"Favorite Recipes From Church of GOD Ladies". Each of the recipes has the ladies' name and home town and I will include this with the recipe and if you know or are related to this person, I would really like to know. The recipes I post from this cookbook are ones I have tried and really like or are unusual due to ingredients or possibly due to the number of recipes with the same name but are different in some way. I hope you enjoy. I know some the recipes are really lacking in some or all areas, but I am posting them as they are in the cookbook

Ingredients For glazed pumpkin cake
- CAKE:

2 csugar

1 1/2 cvegetable oil

2 tspcinnamon

1 tspallspice

2 tspbaking powder

1 tspsalt

2 tspbaking soda

3 cflour
-
4eggs, beaten
-
1 cnuts
-
1 craisins or dates
-
1 tsplemon flavoring
-
1 tspvanilla flavoring
-
2 ccooked pumpkin or 1 no. 2 can pumpkin

1/2 ccoconut
- GLAZE:
-
1 csugar
-
1/2 tspbaking soda

1/2 cbuttermilk
-
1 tspvanilla flavoring
How To Make glazed pumpkin cake

1CAKE: Combine sugar and oil.

2Sift spices, baking powder, salt, baking soda and **2 c. of flour together.

3Alternate, adding flour mixture and eggs to sugar mixture.

4Mix nuts and raisins with remaining **1 c. flour.

5Add nut mixture and remaining ingredients to sugar mixture; blend well.

6Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

7Cool for 20 minutes.

8GLAZE: Combine all ingredients.

9Bring to a boil; cook to sof ball stage.
