Ingredients For glazed cherry crumb cake

  • 1 pkg
    18 - 1/4 ounces yellow cake mix, divided
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 pkg
    fleischmann's rapidrise yeast
  • 2/3 c
    warm water
  • 2
    eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2
    21 ounce cans (lucky leaf) regular or premium cherry pie filling
  • 1/3 c
    cold butter, cubed
  • GLAZE:
  • 1 c
    confectioner's sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    karo light corn syrup
  • 2-4 Tbsp
    water

How To Make glazed cherry crumb cake

    In a mixing bowl, mix 2 cups of cake mix, flour, yeast and water until well blended. Stir in egg. Transfer to a greased 13x9 inch pan. Gently spoon both cans of the pie filling over batter.

    In a small bowl, place remaining cake mix, cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling.

    Bake 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack. Combine the confectioners' sugar, corn syrup and enough water to achieve desired consistency. Drizzle over warm coffee cake. Yield: 12-16 servings.
