This delicious gingerbread recipe is tasty and full of flavor. It is very different from traditional North American gingerbread but a wonderful Christmas tradition. Give it a try.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Bring the flavor of Germany's famous Christmas markets to your kitchen with this gingerbread recipe. Honey and brown sugar are used as a sweetener to add an earthy sweetness different from granulated sugar. We liked the hints of citrus from the orange juice and orange liqueur. It's filled with traditional gingerbread spices of ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. There is a crust similar to a pound cake, but the cake itself is light, tender, and moist. It is served with a dollop of whipped cream and a cup of hot cider. Each bite tastes like Christmas.
