  • 1 c
    milk
  • 3 lg
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    canola oil
  • 3 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 1/4 c
    flour
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • CHERRY TOPPING
  • 2 can
    14 1/2 oz pitted tart cherries
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    cornstarch
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • WHIPPED TOPPING
  • 16 oz
    whip cream

How To Make german black forest bars

    Preheat oven 350 degrees Grease a 9x13 pan.

    Mix the milk, eggs, oil, and vanilla together. Beat until well incorporated. Add the flour, sugar, baking cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well. Pour into prepared pan and bake for about 35 minutes. Until cake springs back when touched in center. Let cool completely

    Cherry topping Drain the cherries reserving 1/2 cup of the juice. Mix the sugar, cornstarch and juice together in a small saucepan. Add the drained cherries and cook until thickened. Let cool

    Spread the cherry mixture on top of the cooled cake. Top with whipped cream. store in fridge.
