It's a really good cake with fresh cherries and almonds. This is a modification of America's classic cherry pie that is delicious for any occasion. Especially the Fourth of July!

14 Tbspbutter or margarine

3/4 csugar

2 tspvanilla sugar or extract

1 1/2 cflour

juice and zest from 1 lemon

2 tspbaking powder

2 Tbspsour cream
-
1/4 tspsalt

4 Tbsppeach jelly
-
1/2 calmonds, slivered

3-4 ccherries
How To Make fresh cherry cake

1Beat butter,sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add eggs,one at the time. Add lemon juice and zest.

2In another bowl, mix the flour,baking powder, and salt. Add eggs to the mixture. Then add sour cream.

3Pit the cherries.Pour the dough to a 9 inch springform pan(the pan should be greased and sprinkled with bread crumbs).

4Arrange the cherries on top of the dough. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake the cake in a preheated oven to 350 degrees F for 55-60 minutes.

5Warm up the peach jelly and glaze on top of the cake on the cherries.Serve with a cup of coffee.
