Ingredients For fresh apple spice cake

    large granny smith apples
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    nuts, chopped
  • 1 c
    dates, chopped ( mix with a small amount of flour to prevent sticking together)
  • 2/3 c
    butter, melted
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 tsp
    allspice, ground
  • 1 tsp
    cardamon, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt

How To Make fresh apple spice cake

    In a large bowl, sift all the dry ingredients and set aside
  • 2
    Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan. Perheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Peel, core and finely chop the apples place into a large bowl. Mix in: sugar, vanilla, beaten eggs, melted butter, nuts and dates.

    With a wooden spoon, mix dry ingredients into the apple mixture. Mix only until moistened, do not over mix. Pour into prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees 50 to 60 minutes.

    When cake is done remove from oven and cool 5 to 10 minutes. Turn out onto a serving plate. Let cool. Sprinkle with powered sugar or frost with an icing of your choice.
